YOHJI YAMAMOTO
The multi award-winning Yohji Yamamoto is known as the grand master of avant-garde tailoring. His signature oversized silhouettes in black often feature drapery in varying textures that defies definition. Born in Tokyo, Yamamoto graduated from Keio University with a degree in law in 1966, but soon after graduating, he realised a law career was not for him, because in his own words “I didn’t want to join the ordinary society.” Today, Yohji Yamamoto’s new ideas are materialised through a new line of luxury accessories, Discord Yohji Yamamoto - an innovative bag and accessories collection that boldly reflects the label’s moody aesthetic with a spirit of rebelliousness.
